"I can’t wait to kick off the 2025 Formula 1 season and doing it on home turf in Australia makes it even more special. Starting my full-time rookie season at Albert Park is a dream come true. It’s a circuit I know fairly well from my time in Formula 2 plus driving a few parade laps last year, but taking part in my first full Grand Prix race weekend there with BWT Alpine Formula One Team will be something else entirely. The support from the fans will be incredible and I’ll be soaking up every moment.
Having had the opportunity to race in Abu Dhabi at the end of last season was a big help. It gave me a real understanding of what a full F1 weekend is like - everything from the race structure to managing the build-up, the meetings, the drivers’ parade, and all the small details that come with competing at this level. It was a valuable experience and I know that heading into Melbourne, I’ll feel much more prepared.
This season, my main focus is to enjoy the journey. I’ve worked so hard for this moment, alongside everyone who’s helped me along the way. Now it’s about working closely with the team, and ensuring I extract the absolute maximum from the car.
After Abu Dhabi, I took some time to reset, spent time with friends and family in Australia, and then got straight back to work in January with an intense training camp to make sure I’m in the best shape possible. I’ve also been on the simulator and spending a lot of time with the team in Enstone to ensure we’re as prepared as possible heading into the season.
My first impressions of the A525 from the Bahrain test have been great. We had three smooth days with no issues, which meant we could achieve plenty of mileage. As always, it’s hard to predict exactly where we’ll be in terms of performance until we get to Melbourne, but our goal is to optimise every aspect of the car and put ourselves in the best possible position.
Also, working with Pierre has been great over the last few years - he brings so much experience to the team, and it’s going to be exciting competing alongside him this season.
Finally, looking ahead to my home race - Albert Park is a tricky circuit. It’s part street track, part permanent circuit, which makes it unique. The surface can be slippery, and getting into a rhythm early is key. A strong start to the season is always important, so I’m hoping we can put everything together and kick things off the right way. I can’t wait to get to Melbourne and see all the support from my home fans. I’m excited about racing in front of them and I can’t wait for the season to get underway."
