David joined BWT Alpine Formula One Team in 2024 as Executive Technical Director. He oversees the technical department at Enstone and has overall responsibility of the Performance, Engineering and Aerodynamic areas of the team. David began his Formula One career at the Enstone-based team as an Aerodynamicist in 2005 and contributed to the team’s championship success in 2005 and 2006.

David later moved to McLaren and then Ferrari where he became Head of Aerodynamics and later, Chief Engineer – Performance. He left Maranello to return to McLaren as Technical Director, Car Concept and Performance before joining Alpine in May 2024.

He reports directly to Team Principal Oliver Oakes and works closely with him to manage the entire technical team.
